Pulmonary Fibrosis Model

Our pulmonary fibrosis model targets closing the current gap in developing therapies that can cure disease and not just manage it. Our model attempts to recreate the physiology of the human alveolus by incorporating the several key players in pulmonary fibrosis disease including the cellular components, biochemical stimulants and mechanical architecture. By co-culturing primary human alveolar epithelial cells, interstitial fibroblasts, pulmonary microvascular endothelial cells, pulmonary pericytes and immune cells, we aim at providing a cutting-edge platform that enables testing multiple pathways and targets, to cure this debilitating disease.
